Directory on Women Decision Makers in Ghana Launched - Electronic Version To Follow Soon (By Prof. Takyiwaa Manuh)

Particularly in 1995 at the Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing (FWCW), gender perspectives in sustainable development was one of the focuses of concern of the meeting and the declaration on Women in Decision Making states that:

“Women’s empowerment and their full participation on the basis of equality in all spheres of society including participation in decision making processes and access to power are fundamental for the achievement of equality, development and peace”.
Now that we have a directory such as this one, it would go a long way to help the government in its selection of people for appointments in the various sectors of our economy.

These were captured in a keynote address delivered at the launch of the Directory of Women Decision Makers in Ghana by Prof. Takyiwaa Manuh, The Executive Director of the Institute of African Studies.
